Of the different types of chamomiles, Roman chamomile is undoubtedly the most pleasant smelling with a fresh, sweet aroma very reminiscent of apples. This herb has long been known in Aromatherapy for its therapeutic properties and is still a very popular option for teas.

Name of Oil:  Roman Chamomile

Latin Binomial:  Anthemis nobilis

Extraction Method:  Steam

Countries of Origin:  England, Belgium, France, Hungary

Scent Profile:  Sweet, fruity, herbaceous

Parts used in distillation:  Flowers

Oil Characteristics:  Pale grey to pale blue, thin, medium - strong

Used in aromatherapy for the symptomatic relief of:
Teething, colic, diarrhea, indigestion, calming, antidepressant, stress, anxiety, headaches, insomnia, asthma, PMS and sensitive skin.
