Anti-acne face oil

by Leah Morgan, CCAP

Acne is not always a fleeting problem we have as teenagers. Some people suffer with adult acne, which can be very distressing and embarrassing for some. While the underlying causes for acne vary from person to person, a healthy diet (low in saturated fats, sugar and simple carbs), plenty of water, fresh air, and exercise are always a good idea to help balance you skin’s ability to detox. For menstruating women, acne may be something that shows up every month when their hormones fluctuate.

In any case, here is a simple recipe for an acne-busting face oil.

Try it out the next time you feel a pimple coming on!

  • 1oz (30ml) Jojoba Oil - this is suggested as the carrier for this recipe due to Jojoba’s similarity to human sebum.
  • 7 drops Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
  • 6 drops Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
  • 2 drop Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens)

This makes a 2% dilution. Please make sure to research the safety data on essential oils prior to use, and do a "patch test" before using any oils on your skin.
