Giving yourself the gift of meditation is one of the best things that you can do for yourself! Meditation isn’t about escape from your life; it’s about focusing on the breath and entering the stillness inside, and allowing yourself to be receptive to insights and enlightenment from your higher self, your guides, and your higher power.

Meditation is powerful, calming the nerves, lowering high blood pressure, and bringing the mind to a restful state. One of the ways to help you enter a meditative state is to use essential oils that bring focus, clarity, relaxation and spiritual connection. You can choose a single oil that your intuition tells you is perfect for you in this moment, or you can create your own blends that help you relax, let go, and tune in to your still, receptive space.

Here are three essential oil blends that can be diffused or applied topically to the soles of the feet, inside of the wrists, temples or back of the neck to help you with your personal meditation practice!

 

  • The Breath Blend: In 4 oz. of carrier oil (jojoba, grapeseed, or sweet almond), add 10 drops of Frankincense oil and 5 drops Sweet Orange oil. Mix and use in any of the above methods. The Frankincense promotes deeper breathing and deeper meditative state, while the Sweet Orange helps with clarity and focus.

  • No More Stress Blend: For those days when your mind is racing, you have a million things to do, and you have rushed to your meditation class, you need to relax more than anything. Mix 4 oz. of carrier oil with 10 drops each of Lavender and Rosemary essential oils. Lavender has sedative properties that make you sigh as your muscles relax and your mind lets go, and Rosemary keeps you from getting sleepy, so you can stay alert during your meditation!
